Dumping the puck on PK

Since the league had this rule in 13 and 14 and more than half of the league is familiar with it i like to see what people think. We all know AI is rubbish in certain situations, some might argue its always, and with that in mind we set up some rules. Dumping the puck on PK was one of them and in my opinion it was great and it worked really well. We had zero complaints about it and everyone agreed it made the game more sim. We, the old members, know new guys will need couple of games to get use to it so no worries.

Here is the rule. If you are on the penalty kill you do these things:

1. If you take control of the puck in your zone you NEED to dump it. You CAN pass it around your zone so you get open space for the dump but thats it. NO attacking from you zone unless your guy ends up with the puck AFTER the dump.

2. If you take control of the puck in neutral zone or at the blue line of your zone you CAN do what you want with it.

3. If you take control of the puck in opponents zone you CAN do what you want with it.

4. If you are loosing in 3rd quarter you CAN attack on PK.

I hope its clear. If i made a mistake some of the old members that remember the rule better can correct me.

I get the rule and like it by why hinder this cheesy play if no other cheese is hindered. If someone is only doing pull backs on me all game there is nothing more I want then to score a shorty on them

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think there was also "if you are loosing more than 2 goals you can attack on PK in any period"

I like the rule but I say if your down by 2 goals you can attack on it .

So down by one goal 1:55 left and take penalty I lose? I say we have a down in 3rd you don't have to dump condition as well...

Good point, We should go with that if we decided to go with the P.K rule

i dont get this concept. it seems very " why ban any cheese if you cant ban all cheese?" ish. And why WOULDNT you get rid of cheese if you could?

Lol so you voted no ? I think season 2 we should bring this back up. We're already started season and half of the league voted for both yes and no lol

I voted no but I actually like the rule. I just think it causes more issues and fights trying to enforce it especially with borderline break out calls.

With no rule am I pissed when I give up two short handed goals sure but it doesn't cause a fight.

Not hard to enforce at all GMCHL did it with NHL 14

We used this rule in 13 and 14. It worked great and was well enforced.

I was all for it.
