I am the nyr and approve of this trade. With the addition of Jones G became expendable. Really wanted a 1st rounder back. Stralman will fit nicely in my 2nd pairing.

0-1 even with consent I still think it is rape. Maybe later on in the season when u can judge what the pick will be. But downgrading in everything while gaining no cap space and guaranteeing yourself no mcdavid which could turn into a late first round pick

Take out the first and this trade is actually decent. Overalls aside, Girardi and stralman have very different skill sets and I can buy stralman being equivalent to Girardi. The 2 prospects cancel each other out. Not sure where the first comes in to play. If the Rangers were eating a ton of cap, maybe. I could get it. But they aren't. So I don't see where that comes in to play.
